I wanted to create a modern interpretation of traditional Asian celebratory style of decoration. Every year I draw one zodiac to represent the new year. These designs are meant to emulate red pockets and new year’s calendar decor of Chinese New Year celebrations. For the year of the Rabbit, I also represented the Vietnamese zodiac of the Cat.
